Take a Break Dishcloth
That sweater is taking too long. That sock is made on size "0" needles you want to finish something now. Try this cloth, a reversible-textured dishcloth. Fun and easy to make. Materials:
1 ball Sugar and cream Size 5 (US 8mm) needles Gauge not important Size: 9.5 X 12 Multiple of 8 + 4 + 3 edge stitches each side. Pattern stitch: 1st row: (RS) Knit. 2nd row: k4, *p4, k4; rep from * to end 3rd row: P4, *k4, p4; rep from * to end 4th row: knit. 5th row: As 3rd row. 6th row: As 2nd row. 7th row: Knit Rep last 3 rows once more 11th Row: As 2rd row. 12th Row as 3rd row. Repeat these 12 rows for pattern. Cast on stitches in multiples above, I think I cast on 58, work 5 rows garter stitch keeping first and last 3 stitches in garter stitch. Place markers between these 3 edge stitches as a reminder if necessary. Begin pattern stitch above and work till cloth is 9.5 inches long ending on any knit row. If you have enough yarn end on row 12. Work 5 rows garter sitch, pull yarn through and weave in end. Sorry I forgot how many stitches I cast on for this size cloth. If you need a cloth that is exactly square then you will need another ball of yarn as I used up an entire ball of yarn for the size given in this pattern. Enjoy and I would love to see a picture if you work this design. :) |
